Pharmacology researchers at the University of Arizona published in May 2015 that supplemental cinnamaldehyde, the main chemical constituent of Cassia and Cinnamon essential oils, activates an endogenous (natural, internal) antioxidant response in colon cells.*

Oxidation in colon cells greatly reduces their ability to normally grow and flourish. According to the researchers, activating this antioxidant response is a natural means of maintaining healthy colon cells.*
